Course Overview

AutoCAD 3D

 Description:

This course is designed to provide mechanical engineers with the skills and knowledge required to create, modify, and optimize 3D models using AutoCAD 3D. It covers fundamental to advanced techniques in 3D modeling, including solid modeling, surface modeling, assembly creation, and technical documentation. By the end of this course, participants will be able to design and visualize mechanical components, assemblies, and technical drawings efficiently.

What You Will Learn in This Course:

Introduction to AutoCAD 3D – Understanding the 3D workspace, navigation, and user interface.

3D Coordinate Systems – Working with UCS (User Coordinate System) and WCS (World Coordinate System).

Solid Modeling – Creating 3D solid objects such as cylinders, spheres, boxes, and custom shapes.

Surface Modeling – Designing complex mechanical components using surface modeling techniques.

Boolean Operations – Union, subtraction, and intersection of 3D models.

Extrusion and Revolution – Converting 2D sketches into 3D models using extrude, revolve, and loft commands.

Fillets, Chamfers, and Modifications – Applying engineering modifications to 3D models.

Assembly Design – Combining multiple parts to create complete mechanical assemblies.

Rendering and Visualization – Creating realistic presentations of mechanical models.

Technical Documentation – Generating 2D drawings, sectional views, and annotations from 3D models.

Exporting and File Compatibility – Exporting files to different formats for manufacturing and simulation.

Prerequisites:

? Basic knowledge of mechanical engineering concepts.

? Familiarity with AutoCAD 2D drafting (recommended but not mandatory).

? Understanding of fundamental engineering drawings and design principles.

? Computer proficiency and ability to navigate design software.
